The short answer
The Vocatech invoice is short on purpose. An eight-seat account is a few lines long.
The seat lines
Every seat costs $29.95 a month, and on the invoice it is shown as its two components: Voice Line Service at $9.95, the phone line itself, and the Collaboration Suite at $20.00, the software on top of it: Webex, Callpop, Textdock, recording, transcription, Reports, the portal and the API. An eight-seat account reads "Voice Line Service x 8" and "Collaboration Suite x 8." The two lines always add up to $29.95 per seat; they are stated separately because telecom taxes apply to the line and not to software, and we account for that precisely. The detail is on the tax methodology page.
Add-ons
- Extra numbers. $4.95 a month for a number pointed at a menu, group or queue, a second number on one extension, or a spare number. Your main number and each user's own direct number are included and never appear here.
- Toll-free number. $2.00 a month, on its own line, plus its inbound minutes under usage.
- Virtual fax line. $14.95 a month per line.
- Paging or doorbell service. $14.95 a month per dedicated number.
- Dedicated shared outgoing line. $19.95 a month, its number included, when every extension should call out on a second number.
Some long-standing accounts carry a line named Small Business Suite, a legacy package priced for that account. Billing answers what it covers. See extra numbers, caller ID, and international calls.
Usage
A few things are metered, so they appear only in a month they happened, at the rates on the pricing page:
- Toll-free number.
$2.00per month, per number. - Toll-free minutes.
$0.04per minute. Inbound calls to your toll-free number only. - International calling.
$0.06per minute. Every destination, landline or mobile. Off until you ask us to turn it on. - Directory assistance (411).
$1.50per call. - Metered messaging.
$0.02per outgoing message. For API messaging above the included allowance, and for mass texting. The general API key includes 20 messages a minute and 200 a day at no charge.
International minutes are counted on calls that connected for at least six seconds, totaled for the month, rounded up to the next whole minute, and billed on the following invoice.
Taxes
Telecom taxes and regulatory fees are computed on the Voice Line Service portion and paid by us. You are not billed for federal excise tax, state telecom tax, or the Universal Service Fund. The one line that can appear is sales tax, where your state requires it for your service address; for New York customers that is New York sales tax.
What is not on it
No regulatory recovery surcharge, no administrative fee, no 911 surcharge, no compliance fee. The price you were quoted is the price you pay. If an invoice looks longer than you expected, something changed: a seat was added, a number was added, a fax line was turned on, someone called abroad. Call us and we walk through it line by line.
Mid-month changes
Billing runs on the 1st for the month ahead, and whatever is active at that moment is billed for the month. A seat added mid-month appears on the next invoice; a seat removed mid-month drops off it. See billing cycle, reminders, and terms.
