Honest comparison

Big brands trap you.
Local guys fall short.
We fit in between.

RingCentral-tier is reliable, expensive, and support is a maze. Local resellers are cheap, limited, and brittle. We built the third option: enterprise BroadWorks underneath, proprietary platform on top, real humans on the phone.

The big-brand tier

RingCentral, 8x8

Corporate. Advanced. Market-proven. And built to extract maximum revenue once you sign.

Multi-year contracts with auto-renewal traps. Miss your window and you are on the hook for three more years.

Recovery fees, compliance fees, port fees, and 911 fees bolted onto the "flat" price in the invoice.

Support funnels you through bots. By the time you reach a human, you have spelled your company name four times.

Proven enterprise backbone, real polish on the surface. Market-proven. Nobody gets fired for buying it.

The local reseller tier

Local providers

Cheap. Friendly. Usually limited. Sometimes built on whatever open-source stack was cheapest to run.

Usually built on open-source Asterisk or a low-tier reseller platform. Not carrier-grade. Things break on updates.

Limited features. Three CRM connectors on a good day. Custom anything is a non-starter.

Owner-operated, so you might get real support, but it depends who answers. No formal SLA.

Cheap upfront. Some have unique niche features that look shiny in a demo. Dangerous zone when a customer outgrows them.

The third option

Vocatech

Enterprise carrier underneath. Custom platform on top. Flat price, month-to-month, real humans.

Cisco BroadWorks underneath. Same carrier platform as Fortune 100s, governments, and hospitals. Sixty million end users worldwide.

Proprietary layer on top. Our own recording server, our own AI transcription on our own GPUs, our own caller popup with AI summaries and history.

Custom integration built per customer for a few hundred dollars. Not a 47-tile app store. Whatever your team uses, we wire it up.

The engineers who build it answer the phone. Flat price, no surprise fees, month-to-month.

A word on "cheapest"

"I don't need anything" only lasts until the first customer leaves.

A phone system is not a commodity like a camera. It is an ongoing service. Most teams who pick the cheapest local reseller do it because they never tried what the market has proven is needed. Then a customer calls and their name does not come up. A voicemail gets lost. An auto attendant breaks the first time you change the greeting. Savings turn into lost revenue faster than most owners realize.

That is why we offer the free trial. Try the real thing for a month. If it does not change how your team answers the phone, keep your money.

A note on "AI receptionist"

We are not shipping that. Not yet. On purpose.

What others are pushing

Replace your receptionist with an AI voice. It answers every call, routes every caller, never takes a break. Sounds great on the sales page. In reality it is an automated phone tree with a friendlier voice. The moment a customer needs something real, they hit a wall.

This works for big companies who have already accepted that their customers will be treated like tickets. It does not work for a small business whose differentiator is that a human picks up.

What we actually do with AI

We use AI to help the human pick up better. Callpop shows the caller record and the history before the phone rings twice. Every call gets a transcript and a summary ready in under a minute. Voicemail reads itself in your inbox. The receptionist stays the hero; AI just loads the information in front of them.

When agentic voice is mature enough to keep the personalized feel, we will ship it. Right now it is not. Skipping a hype cycle is cheaper than losing customers to a bad experience.

The thing that is actually unique

BroadWorks underneath. Our own engine on top.

Cisco BroadWorks powers roughly sixty million end-user subscribers across hundreds of carriers worldwide. It is the industry-standard enterprise phone platform. Almost nobody offering BroadWorks builds their own applications on top. They rent third-party components (which are expensive) or live with the bare platform (which feels dated).

We built everything on top ourselves. Our own call-recording server, our own AI transcription on our own GPUs, our own Callpop desktop app, our own Reports view, our own Textdock integration into Webex, our own custom-integration workshop. The carrier backbone you want, with a user experience nobody else ships.

Try it free for a month.

See the difference before you commit. No contract, no credit card dance, no surprise-fee invoice.
