Small businesses were
forgotten. We remembered.
Eighteen years. Over a thousand businesses. 97% retention. Built on Cisco BroadWorks, with our own platform on top. One small team. Real humans on the line.
I started Vocatech in 2008 because I saw the same story in business after business. The phone system was old, overpriced, and nobody at the vendor picked up when it broke. Meanwhile, the big-brand phone companies had decent technology, but they only cared if you signed a three-year contract and kept your mouth shut for forty-seven months.
Small businesses were stuck in the middle. Too small for the big guys to invest in. Too important to deserve a dial-up-era experience. I kept hearing the same thing: we want what the Fortune 500 has, we just want it at our price and without the games.
So we built it. We picked Cisco BroadWorks underneath because that is the platform the governments and hospitals and Fortune 100 companies already run on. Then we built our own applications on top: the call-recording server, the AI transcription on our own GPU, the desktop caller popup, the Webex-embedded SMS app, the admin portal. Everything a modern team needs to pick up the phone and already know the person on the other end.
Eighteen years later, we have over a thousand businesses on the platform. 97% of them renew. We still answer the phone ourselves. And we still price it flat, month-to-month, no recovery fees, no renewal traps. It turns out that when you treat small businesses like they matter, they stay.
If you are tired of the telecom mess, I would love to talk.
Four things we will not compromise on.
Small businesses deserve the same tools
Clear calls. Fast support. Every feature. The Fortune 500 has had this for twenty years. We gave it to the plumber, the pediatrician, the insurance agent, the yeshiva office.
A human picks up
Our support is not a queue. It is the same small team that built the product. When you call, you talk to someone who can actually fix the thing.
Flat price. No recovery fees
You see the invoice when you sign up. That is the invoice you get every month. No compliance fees, no auto-renewal traps, no multi-year lock-in.
The customer, not the caller
When a phone rings, the person on the other end wants to be known, not looked up. Every product we ship is tuned to that simple fact.
Eighteen years of picking up the phone.
Local roots. National customers.
