Setting up a Yealink phone

Point a Yealink T43U to Vocatech provisioning and let it configure itself.

Every phone needs its MAC address added to the extension before it can register. If you bought the phone through Vocatech, send us the MAC address or add it in the Admin Portal so we can attach it to the right extension.

After the MAC address is on the extension, set the phone to use our secure provisioning server. This guide covers the Yealink T43U. Other Yealink T4xU models work the same way.

The only setting you need

Server URL:

After you save, the phone connects securely to Vocatech, downloads its configuration, and reboots ready to use.

Before you start

Find the MAC address

It is on the back sticker. Example: 805EC0123ABC or 80:5E:C0:12:3A:BC.

Add it to the extension

Send it to us, or open the extension in the Admin Portal and enter it on the Phone tab.

Plug in the phone

Ethernet goes into the Internet port. Use PoE, a PoE injector, or the correct power supply.

Admin password

A factory-new Yealink uses admin. If that does not work, the phone was set up before. Call us.

Set the provisioning server

The fastest way is on the phone itself.

  1. Press Menu, then go to Settings then Advanced Settings.
  2. Enter the admin password. On a new phone it is admin.
  3. Open Auto Provision.
  4. Set URL to . The abc softkey switches between letters and numbers. The dot is on the * key.
  5. Press Save. The phone asks if it should provision now. Choose OK.

Or use the web interface

Typing a URL on a keypad is slow. If you have a computer on the same network, the web interface is easier.

  1. On the phone, press Menu, then Status. Note the IPv4 address.
  2. In a browser on the same network, go to that address. Your browser may warn about the connection. Continue anyway.
  3. Sign in. The factory username is admin and the password is admin.
  4. Go to Settings then Auto Provision.
  5. Set Server URL to and click Confirm.
  6. Click Auto Provision Now.

After it reboots

Leave it alone for a few minutes. A fresh phone can reboot more than once while it downloads configuration and firmware. When it is done, the screen should show the user name or extension.

If the phone still does not register after 5 minutes, the most common causes are the MAC address is not on file, the network is blocking HTTPS, or the phone is still locked to another provider.

Factory reset

Do not factory reset unless the phone is locked, stuck, or still pointing to an old provider. Call us first if you are not sure.

If a reset is needed, hold the OK key for about 10 seconds while the phone is idle, then confirm. The phone wipes itself and starts over from scratch.

Still stuck?

A real human at Vocatech answers the phone. Usually within minutes during business hours.
