Callpop

What Callpop does

A quick tour of the desktop popup and the record links.

The short answer

What it is: A small Windows app. When your phone rings, a popup shows who is calling before you pick up.
What it shows: Name, number, past calls with your business, and a link into their record in your own system.
Where the names come from: Your contacts in the portal. Without them, the popup shows the number.
Windows only: No Mac, iPhone, Android or Chromebook version.

Callpop is not a softphone and does not replace Webex or your desk phone. It sits beside them and does one thing: it puts the caller's context in front of you in the seconds between the first ring and the second.

What the popup shows

The caller's name and number at the top. The fields your company chose to show, such as an account status or a next appointment. One-click buttons that open the caller's record in your CRM or line-of-business system. Answer, hold and end controls.

Where the names and links come from

Callpop reads your company's contacts in the portal: a list you upload, a spreadsheet you email in, or a sync from a system of yours. Each contact can carry a link to its record, and that link is what the popup's button opens. If a number is not in your contacts, the popup shows the number and the call history alone. See contacts and caller names.

Answer, hold and end

The buttons on the popup control the call on whatever device is registered on your extension: a desk phone, or the Webex app signed in. With no registered device they cannot act, and the popup says the call already ended; that is the message for a missing registration, not for the caller.

Who should run it

Anyone who takes inbound calls and wants context: receptionists, dispatchers, salespeople, account managers, coordinators. If you open a record every time the phone rings, Callpop saves the search.

Windows only

Callpop runs on Windows. On a Mac, an iPhone, an Android phone or a Chromebook, the Webex app is the calling app, and it shows the caller's number and history on its own call screen. Callpop is included with every seat at no charge and is distributed and updated by Vocatech. Install steps are in installing Callpop.
