Webex is three apps in one. Calling, messaging, and meetings. You already know the calling side. This article covers the other two so you stop paying for a separate chat tool and a separate video tool.
All of it is included in your $29.95 per seat. No Pro upgrade. No meetings add-on.
Messaging
The Messaging tab handles one-to-one chat with anyone on your team. Type a name, start a thread, send files, react with emoji. History is searchable forever.
You can edit a sent message or delete it. Presence dots show who is available, who is in a meeting, and who is away.
Spaces
A Space is a group chat for a project or a team. Create one from the plus icon, add people, start typing. Spaces keep files, links, and messages together so you do not have to dig.
A Space can also start a meeting with one click. Everyone in the Space gets invited.
Meetings
Meetings are video calls with screen share, whiteboard, and recording. Up to 100 participants for up to 24 hours. Start one from the Meetings tab or from any Space.
Screen share works in one-to-one calls too. You do not need to start a formal meeting to show someone your desktop.
AI noise removal
Webex removes background noise on your side in real time. Vacuums, kids, construction outside. The other side hears just your voice. This runs automatically on every call and meeting.
There is a toggle in settings if you ever need to turn it off, but most people leave it on forever.
Closed captions
Live captions appear on screen during meetings in several languages. Transcription is generated after the meeting and delivered to the host. Useful for accessibility, and for catching what someone said when your connection stuttered.
Webex AI Assistant
The AI Assistant is built into meetings. It summarizes the call, pulls action items, and can answer questions about what was said. Ask it to catch you up if you joined late.
Vidcast
Vidcast is async video. Record a short clip with your screen and your webcam, send the link. The other person watches when they want. Good for walking someone through a UI change or a customer situation without scheduling a live call.
