Installing Cisco Secure Client

Cisco now requires a new method for deploying the Secure Client (formerly AnyConnect) to support Umbrella Roaming. Follow these steps for the client to work properly.

Download the installer

Download Cisco Secure Client

Run the file labeled setup (make sure it is the application file, not the HTML application).

During setup, only check the following options:

• Umbrella Roaming Security
• Diagnostic and Reporting Tool

Uncheck everything else.

Add the OrgInfo.json file

After the installation is complete, check your email for the file named OrgInfo.json that we sent you.

Important: If you have downloaded the file multiple times, make sure the name is exactly OrgInfo.json (not OrgInfo (1).json or similar).

Place the file in the correct folder

1. Press Windows + R
2. Type: %ProgramData%\Cisco\Cisco Secure Client\Umbrella and press Enter
3. Move the OrgInfo.json file into that folder
4. Click Continue if prompted for administrator permission

Finalize

After dragging the OrgInfo.json file into the folder, you can close the window.

Wait a few minutes. Umbrella should start working automatically.

If it does not start, try restarting your computer.
