Ringing your cell

BroadWorks Anywhere and extension 777.

3 min

Sometimes you are in a car, on a job site, or somewhere the Webex app cannot hold a steady connection. BroadWorks Anywhere is the answer. It rings your regular cell number alongside your Webex app so you can pick up on whichever device is handier.

For outbound calls from that same cell, dial extension 777 first to send the call out with your business caller ID.

What it is

BroadWorks Anywhere is a BroadWorks feature that links your extension to an outside phone number. When someone dials your extension, both your Webex app and your cell ring at the same time. The first one you answer takes the call.

It is not call forwarding. The call rings both places at once, and you still have the full extension feature set if you answer on Webex.

How to enable it

Enabling BroadWorks Anywhere requires support. It is not self-serve. Call 718.395.1550 or email support and tell us which extension and which cell number to link. Usually configured within minutes.

We do this by hand on purpose. Mistyped cell numbers send calls to strangers, which is a bad Monday.

Extension 777 outbound

For outbound calls from your cell with your business caller ID, dial your main Vocatech number first, then dial 777 when prompted. Enter the number you want to reach. The call goes out through Vocatech.

Without this, calls from your cell show your personal cell number. With it, they show your business number. Customers see the same caller ID whether you are at your desk or in the field.

Cell vs Webex

Webex is better when your internet is solid. HD audio, noise removal, full feature set, screen share on internal calls.

The cell is better when you are moving, when Wi-Fi is flaky, or when the Webex app is acting up. Both are fine. Use what works.

Still stuck?

A real human at Vocatech answers the phone. Usually within minutes during business hours.
